Church Denominations
The Christian Church is that collection of human societies which is inspired by, and seeks to represent, the signifigance of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ. Because Jesus was deemed by early Christians to be the epitome of Israel, the Church is described in the New Testament as 'the People of God.' The Church is also referred to as 'the Temple of God's Spirit.'
